I am a living sacrifice
by on March 22, 2014 in Poetry Uncategorized

I am a living sacrifice
walking by faith, blindly through the narrow gate
Smoldering in humility
momentarily agonizing over parts of me that pride kept in place
Fiercely fighting against shame
so I can embrace an incorruptable crown

I want to dance before the golden calf
I want grumble and complain
I want to say the mana delivered daily isnt enough

I want to take the wide road
I want to forget discretion
I want to covet and be ill content

But I am a living sacrifice
walking by faith, blindly through the narrow gate
Smoldering in humility
momentarily agonizing over parts of me that pride kept in place
Fiercely fighting against shame
so I can embrace an incorruptable crown
