When I think of losing my soul because of fame and fortune, my bank account laughs at me. Have I wanted to pursue excellence and pay my bills on time ? Yes. Fame and fortune ? No. Now what has disconnected me from the Lord is the rejection and abandonment that comes from breaking from the norm of black oppression. Also the confusion about tithing and numerous amount of theological ideas. Then I cant deny that self medicating with spending has been a problem.
I think those of us who arent trying to be rich or famous can also fall into denial about other things that can disconnect us from the Lord. I think that is apart of humility as well not just us driving in a beat up car and following Dave Rasmey’s principles to a tee.
There are poor people who no one knows who lack humility. However, what day 3 taught me is to be mindful of why I am disconnected from God no matter the reason and for me it is alot of theological confusion.
