Thoughts on Morality

I am huge on science, what comes up must come down, etc.

If we emotionally detach from certain situations & merely look at the outcomes we can make better decisions.

Morality & religion merely guide us in how we attach meaning to a certain situation.

For example before meterology & climatology, when the ancients saw fog they decided that a fog god must be angry and thus they must appease the fog god with a sacrifice.

My feeling is that certain things are going to happen on this earth have nothing to do with if God is happy or not. Eschatology has already predicted the end of the world.

Whether that is by a meteor or a nuclear holocaust the end is imminent, just like our physical death.

Now for me knowing that certain outcomes are inevitable based on choices I used the Bible to help navigate and deal with those consquences.

Take the issue of sexual transmitted disease. Is the Bible wrong for putting restrictions on sexual activity ? Or did God who created our body already know that sexual transmitted diseases like AIDS, Herpes, etc are an imminent outcome of promiscuity just as a ball hitting the ground is an imminent outcome for throwing it up & not catching.

Just like Newton’s laws represent a scientific absolute I think there can be scientific absolutes for sex.
