Barry Harris is a rare jewel in the world of jazz. A pianist who is a great educaror who actually played with bebop greats like Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Stitt, Illinois Jacquet, Coleman Hawkins, Dexter Gordon, Charles McPherson and Max Roach.
Barry Harris also lived with Thelonius Monk and his family during his final years.
Of particular interest to me as a trumpet player, is that Barry Harris played on Lee Morgan’s quintessential album “Sidewinder”
